There’s been a rumor going around about how reeds played better back in the 70’s. We had to find out why. After researching the different reed cuts throughout the past few decades, we found that many reeds in the 70’s were cut with a shorter vamp.

A shorter vamp allows for more stability in the sound and a faster response. We wanted to maximize the amount of bite you can get you in your sound by making the reed react quickly with a full core and even sound throughout the register of the saxophone.
