Designing The Nexus mouthpiece
The creation of the Nexus Edge was a true pursuit of perfection and innovation. Our goal for the design was simple, but the order was tall: We wanted a mouthpiece that would project with unparalleled power and ease, while maintaining the warmth and fullness in sound that we all want from a hard rubber mouthpiece.
Dozens of prototypes were created, matching different baffle profiles, chamber sizes, facing curves and tip openings. In the end, almost two dozen configurations were conceived before we finally arrived at the ultimate combination. The result of the Nexus Edge was even more exciting than we had anticipated.
The Edge provides the player unmatched tonal flexibility, able to project with ease and still whisper on a ballad. It’s a mouthpiece that we feels lives in its own class and category, from the innovation of its design impetus to the quality of how its made and simply we can’t wait for you to experience it.
